We believe that a community should give back to people what they put in; where they have the opportunity and economic means to make the right decisions for themselves and their family. We believe in a sustainable community that will support its residents now and long into the future. We believe that housing is for people, not profit.
As a non-profit home builder, we build homes for less money. By not serving a profit margin, we pass savings onto community members. In the spirit of social entrepreneurship, we balance financial responsibility with environmental and social benefits. DWIFT is more than a business, it is a model of change.
We build beautiful, affordable homes that are economical and energy efficient. Our approach counters the commodification of housing and promotes it as a human right. Unlike market developers who maximize profits through rezoning and densification, we use the same tools to maximize affordability. Our project affordability is relative to the profitability of housing in our community.
